2022 International Women’s Day Celebration

The International Women’s Day was something that started as an idea in 1910, thanks to Clara Zetkin. It was tabled at the International Conference of Working Women. Now it’s a global celebration marking the achievements of women across the decades, industries and spaces.

This year the theme for the International Women’s Day 2022 is #BreakingTheBias, gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.

LeadWomen has organised multiple events in commemorating this event over the years. This year, we have decided to provide a more collaborative space where we can work alongside different companies as partners. Through the partnership, we are able to bridge the gap between expertise and bring multi-stakeholders together creating a meaningful engagement and impact in nurturing women leaders.

Join us in the different virtual sessions through March celebrating, empowering and giving space for women for better days for all people.

Session: Panel Discussion, “Breaking the Bias for a Sustainable Tomorrow”

This panel will be the first and opening event of the whole 2022 IWD celebration. The panel was formulated as such that we are able to bring different expertise and perspectives to share thoughts and data addressing the concerns of woman today. “Breaking the Bias for a Sustainable Tomorrow” will be an opportunity to uncover issues that may cut across industries or/and industry specific. Through the session, we hope to provide some information and tools as takeaways.

Session: Google: #IAmRemarkable Workshop

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. During the 90 minute workshop, you will learn the importance of self-promotion in your personal and professional life and be equipped with tools to develop this skill. Participants will be invited to challenge the social perception around self-promotion.

More details about the #IamRemarkable initiative by Google can be found here: https://iamremarkable.withgoogle.com/

Session: Queen Bee Effect – Not what you think it is

Queen Bees are generally considered powerful women who are critically unsupportive of other women. It is a polarizing topic – be it its term, theories and causal factors, but one that is common in corporate settings and pertinent to the mindful leader. This talk will focus on understanding what the Queen Bee Effect is, how it impacts corporate inclusion, culture and leadership, with opportunities for dialogue in a safe space.
