Lily is currently the Ethics and Compliance Officer looking after Shell’s global downstream E&C interests. Previously, she was the Head of Legal and Managing Counsel for Downstream, Shared Services, Corporate and Company Secretarial for Malaysia. She has over 20 years Oil and Gas industry experience with significant knowledge in O & G projects and operations, leadership, change management, corporate governance, board management, talent development, litigation management, policy formulation, crisis and risk management and compliance.
Her leadership exposure and experience includes advising the Shell Board and management in a public-listed entity, as a director in a few of Shell’s boards and member of its various management team in country, as a faculty for Shell’s leadership programme and regular speaking engagements in the region on Inhouse Counsel, Compliance and Governance. She has held various external and leadership positions – Deputy President of the Malaysian Corporate Counsel Association, Shell Women Action Network (SWAN) President. an attachment with the Government of Malaysia, Shell Malaysia’s representative to the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce Legal Affairs Committee and a member of the Kolej Tunku Jaafar Board of Trustees and Governors.
In addition to her business responsibilities, Lily is passionate about people and talent development and is an active Diversity and Inclusion champion within Shell. Her higher purpose in life is to help others reach their true potential through her mentoring/coaching work and sharing her life and career experience.
She read law at Cardiff Law School, United Kingdom and holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Malaysian Institute of Personnel Management.
Her hobby is balancing a full time global career with caring for her special-needs child whilst pursuing the outdoors.
