Rema Devi Nair joined edotco Group as Regulatory Advisor to the CEO in August 2014, bringingextensive corporate, regulatory, governance and government relations experience, from a 30-year career which included senior regional management as well as Board roles.
Prior to edotco, an Axiata Group subsidiary focused on passive communications infrastructure, Rema served as Head, Group Regulatory Affairs at Axiata Group. In this role, she managed a regional team across diverse, highgrowth communications markets in South East Asia and South Asia, conducting regulatory risk assessment on M&A transactions, managing regulatory risk and engaging at high levels of Government on public policy issues. A 4-term member of the Chief Regulatory Officer’s Group of the GSM Association, she has been a frequent speaker on regulatory issues at regional and global fora.
Earlier in her career, as a pioneering member of the newly established Malaysian communications regulator, Rema actively participated in the start-up of the world’s first convergence regulatory authority. As a regulator, she was involved in high impact economic decisions such as spectrum allocation and interconnection. Prior to that, she started her career in the corporate world as a corporate planner at Telekom Malaysia (TM) and was keenly involved in the corporate transformations of TM, TM International and Telkom South Africa.
Since mid-2016, Rema has been serving as Non-Independent Director on various edotco subsidiary Boards including edotco Investments Singapore Pte Ltd, edotco Malaysia Sdn Bhd, On Site Services Sdn Bhd, edotco Services Lanka (Private) Ltd and edotco Towers (Bangladesh) Co Ltd. She graduated with an MPhil degree majoring in Human Development from the Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Malaya, Malaysia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the same university.
