LeadWomen Director Membership

Since our inception in 2011, we have focused on supporting and training aspiring, new and established women leaders as they embark or continue on their leadership journey. Over the years, we have built a community of hundreds of exceptional women leaders and continue to foster their journey to the board through targeted programmes, board coaching, mentoring and networking events.
 
The LeadWomen Membership community is a network of like-minded women leaders, who are extending their networks, growing their professional careers and board journey, as well as making impactful contributions to the corporate world and wider economy. LeadWomen Membership connects women with board opportunities, and it is also a place to find high level career-related support to nurture and promote personal and professional development.
 

Who is LeadWomen Director Membership for?

 This membership is open to individuals who meet any one of the following criteria:
  • Currently serving on a private, non-profit or public listed board, or
  • Have served on a private, non-profit or public-listed board, or
  • Have leadership experience at C-level, partner or director level and have completed a related Director Readiness Programme, or
  • An established entrepreneur with a turnover of minimum RM1.0 million

We are evolving the LeadWomen Community to be more inclusive, accessible, and impactful for women leaders across Malaysia and the region.
 
As our membership has grown into a strong platform for peer learning, shared experiences, and meaningful connections, we have transitioned to a no-fee, application-based community model, effective 1 January 2026.

Depending on the purpose, these sessions may be organised as intimate gatherings or larger group events—each designed to cultivate meaningful connections and enriching conversations.

Board Sharing Session

A platform for Experienced Directors / Current Director Members to share their personal learnings and expertise with other fellow members on how to be effective on boards by building trusting relationships, understanding the dynamics, and leading authentically.

Board Simulation

This programme brings boardroom learning to life through a dynamic and immersive experience.

It replicates real-life boardroom scenarios, providing aspiring, new, and current board directors with practical exposure to board dynamics, strategic discussions, decision-making processes, role expectations, and leadership communication.

Board Mentoring

The exclusive programme connects aspiring and new directors with experienced Board Directors and Chair within the LeadWomen community to:

1. Provide mentoring for their board journey
2. Exchange knowledge & experience
3. Network
4. Peer-to-peer learning

Access to Power Hour

As LeadWomen members, you also have an opportunity to be our featured speakers for Power Hour. These monthly knowledge-sharing sessions are facilitated by leading industry experts who have a variety of functional and industrial expertise.

Creating an effective board-ready resume is the first and one of the most crucial steps to securing a seat at the board table. If crafted well, it can help Boards understand your unique leadership qualities better, thus enhancing your chances to get appointed. In this tailored programme, we will help you to co-create a compelling board profile and position yourself for your next board opportunity.

While LeadWomen  Membership works on connecting women and opportunities, it is also a place to find higher levels of career-related social support, and resources to nurture and develop personal and professional relationships and growth.

We welcome applications from women leaders from all industry sectors, open ages and either working or retired.  Eligibility to be a member of the LeadWomen is criteria-based, as reflected above.

Career transitions are part of many successful journeys. Membership is open to those who meet the criteria, and we welcome highly experienced women who have recently exited the workforce to contribute as mentors.

LeadWomen members enjoy complimentary networking events, discounted rates for paid events, and priority access to event invitations and registrations. Some selected events are exclusive to members only. Non-members are welcome to attend open events where indicated, but without member benefits or priority access.
